I had to have an emergency dental crown done. It wasn’t my normal dentist. My dentist was on vacation. I went to someone who treats emergencies. He was super sweet, got me out of pain, and started the treatment right there. I have no complaints about how I was treated. However, the crown he placed doesn’t match the rest of my teeth. Is there anything I can do about it?

Amanda,
I’m glad you were happy with the dentist’s chairside manner and consideration. When you’re dealing with any kind of dental emergency, there usually isn’t time to research the dentist. It sounds like he’s a great general dentist, but isn’t that great with the cosmetic side of things.
Unfortunately, once a crown is bonded on there is no way to change the color. You’d have to have the crown re-done. That being said, I’d give the dentist a chance to make things right. He’ll likely care that you’re happy with everything, including the aesthetics.
However, if cosmetics is not his thing, he may not be able to improve it no matter how hard he tries. In that case, you could ask for a refund (for the crown only) or just pay to have a new one done.
