I have a pimple on my gums and wondered what it means. It’s been hurting and has gotten to the point of distracting me. What does it mean?

You have a tooth infection. Given the pimple and the pain, I would say it was an active infection. It needs to be dealt with fairly quickly. It is not an emergency that has to be done this day, but you’ll want to be timely in its care.
If you don’t have a dentist, then you can certainly can go to an emergency dentist. They’ll see non-established patients and will at the very least get you out of pain almost immediately. Then he or she can tell you what the next treatment step will be. You can either go back to the emergency dentist if you like him or find a different dentist.
