I’ve been in the hospital for a few weeks after a pretty serious domestic violence incident. He’s been violent before, but I’ve been too afraid to do anything about it. This time, my neighbor testified to the police and set things in motion while I was hospitalized. She gave me courage and my husband is being held without bond until his trial. I’ve had a lot of expenses since then. I’m learning to take care of myself again. I need to get a job, but he smashed my face into the fireplace and I’ve broken and lost quite a few teeth. I don’t think anyone will hire me when I look like this. Is there a way to get a smile fixed affordably?

Barb,
Wow, you’ve been through so much, and I’m really proud of you for having the courage to take a stand. I also have some great news for you about affordable dentistry.
There is an organizatin called “Give Back A Smile”. It is specifically designed for women in your position. General and Cosmetic Dentists donate their time and materials to repair smiles damaged from domestic violence.
The service was begun by The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) as a means to serve the community. I’d give them a call and get things started.
