I went to a party last night and used cocaine. It’s my first (and likely last) time. Something happened and now I need to see an emergency dentist. Do I have to tell him about the cocaine? I don’t know how long it stays in my system.

Dear Anonymous,
I just did a quick Google search (though I’m guessing now I should erase my search history), and it looks like it stays in your system for up to four days.
It would be a good idea for you to tell your emergency dentist about anything that is in your system, including over the counter medicines. You wouldn’t want any counter-indications.
All that being said, I know you’re likely afraid of being “ratted out”. Truthfully, most dentists would not turn you in. The exception being if you’re high when you get to their office and they’re afraid letting you drive would be a danger to society.
So, as long as you go the dentists office as a respectable human being, you’re not likely to have any problems and the dentist can treat you without risking complications.
