I had a crown fall off. I was super busy AND out of state so I didn’t go right in to the dentist’s office. I just ate on the other side of my mouth. Now that I have gone in, my dentist says I’ve waited too long to go in and now I need to have a completely new one made. Is this for real?

Brooke,
You didn’t mention how long you had your crown off, but if it was more than a week, your dentist is very likely right. Your teeth begin to shift when there is no tooth or crown there to keep it in place. the crown will not longer fit in the space available.
I know you were out of town, but there are emergency dentists that would be happy to see you and help, even though you are not their established patient. I know that does you no good no, but may in the future should you find yourself in similar circumstances.
I’m sorry that your crown no longer fits. The only solution will be to have a new crown refitted for the area.
